The Body Shop Lightening Touch Review and Swatches

I read the name for the first time my friend gave this to me and had no idea what to do with this product. I asked for a primer and she was a kind of that this can be used unless I found out that it’s supposed to be concealer to lighten your under eye area and parts of your face.Comes in three shades 01,03,04. I have o4 with me.

What it Claims?

An indispensable lightweight moisturizing liquid makeup tool, it hides imperfections like dark shadows and fine lines highlighting your best features and leaving your skin looking brighter and smoother. Dermatologically tested. (From Website).

Price:

She purchased this in Zurich. I think price was around 750-800Rs. Not sure.

How to Use?

After applying foundation dab into desired area and blend using the applicator brush.

Ingredients: (From Website)

Key Ingredients:

Organic Beeswax: Moisturizes and helps to condition dry skin, especially on your lips and around the fingernail beds. Acts as a barrier that helps to seal in moisture.

Glycerin: Is an effective moisturizer which helps improve softness and maximize hydration.

Marula Oil: Naturally rich in antioxidants and essential fatty acids.

Panthenol: Is proven to improve flexibility of the nails, helping to reduce flaking and breakage.

Vitamin E: Vitamin E conditions, nourishes, and protects the skin, leaving it soft, smooth, and healthy.

Other Ingredients:

Water, Cyclomethicone, Glycerin, Polymethyl Methacrylate, Sclerocarya Birrea Seed Oil, Cetyl PEG/PPG-10/1 Dimethicone, Barium Sulfate, Sodium Chloride, Beeswax, Polyglyceryl-3 Oleate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Caprylyl Glycol, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Ethylene Brassylate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Panthenol, Lecithin, Triethoxycaprylylsilane, Pentaerythrityl Tetra-Di-t-Butyl Hydroxyhydrocinnamate, Tocopherol, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Glyceryl Stearate, Glyceryl Oleate, Citric Acid. May Contain: Titanium Dioxide, Mica, Iron Oxides.

My Experience:

It comes in a silver tube packaging which is very cute.Theres a brush applicator on the top through which the product dispenses out and for that you need to twist the bottom of the tube. For the first time it takes a little time for the product to come out. You need to clean the brush applicator regularly about a gap of 2-3 days.

Well about the product: it’s a light concealer/highlighter which gives you a even coverage in undereyes and other areas of your face. If you have prominent dark circles then this product is not for you because it just gives you a very light coverage. Especially suited for those females who have very light patches in under eye areas or unless you are looking for a very natural look , without makeup kind of.

Its light formula dosen’t make you feel heavy at all and gives you a natural brightened up look. Coverage is light but buildable. Doesn’t crease. Easy to blend.

I mostly use it as a primer also. Just apply it on your eyes and dust baby powder on it .you are done.

The Body Shop Lightening Touch                      The Lightening Touch Dabbed to Highlight

What I Liked?

  • Doesn’ make you feel heavy.
  • Easy to blend.
  • Gives you a natural bright glow.
  • Coverage is buildable.
  • Can be used to highlight different areas of face other than eyes.

What I Didn’t Liked?

  • More of a highlighter than concealer, not suitable for people who have prominent dark circles and patches and those who need strong coverage.
  • For first application takes some time to get into product with the twist pen.

My take on it as a Primer.

Conclusion:

A good product for people who doesn’t have much darker dark circles and need very light coverage with natural finish and glow. I liked the brightening power of the product.
