My Experience with Biotique Bio Fruit Whitening Lip Balm:
I picked this up when I suffered from lips allergy during one of my recent trips and they became all swelled up & dark.
This comes in a small green tub, standard biotique packing with green coloured screw top cap and a white coloured plastic protector inside. In hot temperature this lipbalm melts and creates a mess around the tube.
The lip balm has a brownish red tint which gives a good opaque coverage on lips. You can use this without your lipstick also and if used under lipstick it will tend to change the lipstick colour. The shade alone also looks very pretty on lips. And now coming to our main point: the effectiveness—–
Well I am not at all happy with the moisturization part . This lip balm does not provide enough moisturization for my dry lips so I had to always use this along with additional lip balm. I was expecting it to even tone my lips and get rid of that blackness due to allergy but it did nothing good there too. I saw a very slight difference though but not sure if its coz of this or my regular Lotus lip balm which I was using along with this. So to sum up this didn’t do anything to my lips no moisturization and no even toning .The sadest part is that it doesn’t have SPF being a lip protector. I got a chance to review it today coz my cousin bought 3-4 packs of this and gave one to me. I am using this daily on my lip balm for the lovely tint it has.
- Economical.
- Has a good brownish red tint.
- Can be used alone without any lipstick as tint gives good opaque coverage.
Cons:
- Not enough moisturization for my dry lips.
- No even toning of lips as claimed.
- No SPF
Final Verdict:
For me this lip balm didn’t worked at all. I got dry lips and it doesn’t give enough moisturization not it helped to even tone my lips.

I have read similar reviews regarding this product,so never bought!
Good decision
Thanks for the review…I so wanted to try this one….still not sure if I might be able to succumb to not buying..the colour is so lovely..
Yup Prachi most of their lip balms are tinted and gives good coverage onlips
I wanted to buy the other one..not whitening..dnt remember the name but it looked like mixed fruit jam
I have used their sunflower lip balm and that was just amazing and based on that picked this one but was good for nothing ….
I bought this yesterday. Just couldnt resist the Biotique pot! I like the colour and the smell. very refreshing in an ayurvedic way. And though Im in humid Bombay, I havent found it runny. In fact I love the consistency as of now!
I have been using it continually as of now, and my lips already feel moisturised, and the darkness that came along with chapped lips has much reduced. So maybe it is good for that kind of darkness? And not the types that come with allergy?
If fact, if your lips were swollen and black due to allergy, you might ask your doctor to prescribe you mometasone cream. It is great in moisturising and restoring lip colour. It worked wonders for me in the same situation.
By the way, Lotus products have never suited me, I end up in rashes or allergy – so maybe all herbal stuff doesnt work the same way with everyone!
