The most talked about sunblocks have finally hit the market & I got to try their SPF 90 PA++ version. The packaging is same as their regular sunblocks, an orange coloured squeeze tube with flip flop cap. The major pull back is the price of whooping 595 bucks for 50 ml as compared to the very popular Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch Sunblock which costs 450 INR. The Neutrogena one has proven very effective in protection long duration sun exposure & this new range from Lotus claims nothing less than that.
Formula wise this is a Biscuit Brown coloured slightly thick cream which needs to be massaged a bit to get completely soaked up into the skin otherwise end up leaving whitish cast but I am ok with that since sunblocks are usually bit thicker. This is slightly tinted & gives a very sheer coverage. Gets settled down as matte finish on my superdry skin without making it heavy or greasy. On the contrary it is not even drying on my skin & I don’t feel the urge of regular moisturization after wearing this. I have even applied this over Olive oil on my skin & still it sits very comfortably without any greasiness. I usually sweat very less but as the temperatures during this summer are soaring up beyond 40’s sweating has become very common & this sunblock survives moderate amount of sweating on my skin. It doesn’t gives that whitish layer or gets wiped off with the sweat. Once settled into the skin it just stays there come may whatever. When using on face below the makeup, I suggest using it in minute quantity as being slightly thick & long waering will be sufficient for the whole day.
This does provide good sun protection for 5-6 Hours & most of the times I have just applied this in morning without any reapplication for the whole day, yet my skin was safe without any tanning (but recommended to reapply sunscreens after every 3-4 hours). I mostly don’t require a reapplication with this as this gives a good5- 6 hours sun protection & I don’t stay outdoors more than that usually . I use my normal biotique sunscreen at home. However one thing to be clarified here that high SPF factor doesn’t play a major role here as increasing the SPF number don’t make a huge difference but PA+ factor is to be considered here which is quiet good. Has got a mild fragrance which I absolutely love.
Now coming to the compatibility of the formula with skin types: I haven’t experienced irritaions or any kind of breakouts using this. The brighter part being that this is completely natural without any parabens or preservatives! (See the ingredients list). So I guess this will work equally well for all skin types including sensitive ones too. However this contains Soya Protein, so people allergic to Soya may want to test this before shelling 600 bucks from their pockets.
Overall leaving apart price, I am very much satisfied with the product & Highly Recommend it for people who stays outdoors for longer duration.

Lotus Safe Sun Collagen Shield Sunblock SPF 90 PA+++ as claimed gives good long sun protection from harmful UVA & UVB rays. Commendable wear time & doesn’t get wiped away easily even in sweaty summers. Gives a matte finish without any dryness & is slightly tinted. All in one this is a complete sun protection solution for me which is non greasy, light textured & completely natural. Do check this out if you got a 600 bucks budget for a sunblock!
