Remember those perky dance sequences from Asha Parekh where she sizzled on silver screen! Right from black & white to coloured cinemas she ruled the Bollywood with her charm & beauty. And then not to forget her signature eyemakeup of long stretched wing liner which she made so very famous & become a trend setter. Today I see Kangna Ranaut sporting the look mostly but then with lots of customizations.
This is a kind of look which never fails to loose its charm & a pefect gateway for any ocassion.Right from red carpets to movie awards we have seen out celebrities spreading the magic with this winged liner look. Today I will be doing a tutorial for a Retro Winged Liner which is basically extended in a sleek tail form. I so wanted to post a FOTD too but then I will be doing a separate post compiling the different winged liner looks along with FOTD’s.
1. Clean & Prime your eyes.
2. You can go for this kind of look with coloured eyeshadows also but I am doing it with a neutral accent. For lids I have taken a creamy nude base. You can use any creamy base suiting your skintone.
3. Take a slightly darker earth toned shade to define the crease & the outer corner of eye. I have MAC Romp eyeshadow for the purpose.
4. I am more comfortable with pencil liners than liquid ones, hence I have started the look with black pencil liner from Bourjois (effet smoky) & then used a liquid liner to further intensify. Trace the upper lash line using a pencil liner. Keep the line as close as possible to the lashes to give dense feel & volume to lashes & later thicken it a bit tracing along the shape of your eye.
5. Tightline the upper waterline & extend a slight wing diagonally from the outer corner of eye. Join the wing to the lower outer corner of eye & fill in the gaps if any
6. Fill in the waterline with same black liner & also line the lower lash line. Need not be perfect as it will be smudged further
7. Take eyeshadow used for defining the crease & with the help of a pencil or smudger brush smudge the eyeshadow on lower lash line along with the black liner.
8. With the help of a liquid liner trace the upper lashline & the wing on the outer corner to further intensify the look.
9. Curl your eyelashes & apply 2-3 coats of good volumizing mascara to finish the look.
Hope the tutorial was helpful. Will be coming up with more wined liners soon. You can pair this look with bold or subdues lips & a nice warm pink blush. Its a universally flattering look.
