It is that time of the year when Indians unite; a day dedicated in honor of our heroes, our rich culture and traditions; a festival celebrated irrespective of one’s cast, creed and gender; an occasion that brings together every beating heart living on the Indian subcontinent.

This Independence Day, reveal your true patriotic colors as Ms Aakriti Kochar, Beauty and Makeup Expert, Oriflame India, brings to you the make-up looks inspired by our national symbols.

This independence season look the Indian way!

Let your Eyes Reflect the Spirit of Patriotism

Get this look:

To get a perfect tricolor, start from the bottom using Oriflame Very Me Eye Envy Eyeshadow in the shade of Green Fusion. The gorgeous green strike should be gently taken in the upward direction. The beautiful saffron colour can be achieved through Oriflame Make That Change Palette. Use Oriflame Beauty Wonder Lash Waterproof Mascara to get long lasting black eyelashes in this monsoon season. To get the perfect streak of white, use Oriflame Very Me Double Trouble Eye Pencils’ Night Glow shade. Complete the look by wearing blue lenses that will beautifully represent the Ashoka Chakhra.

 Tiger Instincts

The Indians are known for their bravery and courage and that’s why our national animal is ‘The Royal Bengal Tiger’.  Pay tribute to the Indian symbol of courage with eyes that ooze confidence.

Always dab some loose powder under the eyes when working with eyeshadow especially while using dark colors. Start with picking a dark brown/gray eyeshadow on the crease line (i.e. just above your eye socket). This helps in making your eyes look bigger, which is important while working with dark colors as these tend to make your eyes look smaller. Intensify the outer corner with a black eyeshadow and join it to the bottom lash-line covering one-fourth of the lower lash line. Now pick a white pearly highlighter and pat it on the brow bone i.e. arch of your eye brow and the inner corner of the eyes. This helps to open up with eyes & making them look bright. From Oriflame Beauty Tri color eye shadow palette, pick rich gold eye shadow and dab it on the centre of the eye lid blending it with the black and pearly white shadows. Line your eyes with Oriflame Beauty Wonder liner, which is dark black and glossy. Fill the water line using Oriflame Beauty Smooth definer eye kohl in black. Curl your lashes using Oriflame eye lash curler and mascara with Oriflame Beauty Wonder lash intense for the beautiful and heavy lashes. Fill your brows with Dark brown brow filler shadow or pencil.

Colours Galore

Get This Look:

Indians love colours and this is why our national bird is a colorful and beautiful peacock. This Independence Day let your inner colours come to fore with the liveliness of your eyes.

Prepare a base for your eye lids and under eye with the concealer and pat some loose powder. This will help in better color payoff for the eyeshadows and make them long lasting.

Start with green eye shadow on the outer corner of the eyes such that you form the letter “C”. With a pearl white eye shadow, highlight your brow bone just at the arch of the eye brow. Pick a shimmery blue eye shadow right at the centre of the eye and dab maximum product at the centre of the eye. At the inner corner, dab some gold shimmery eyeshadow. All these eye shadows are available in Oriflame Beauty Tri color palettes. Draw a thick black liner and extend it upwards at the outer corner. Use Oriflame Very ME funky eye pencil in Silver to draw under the lower lash line and fill the water line. Curl your lashes with Oriflame eye lash curler and use Oriflame Beauty 2FX Mascara for those beautiful fan like looking lashes.
