Recently Maybelline launched some 7 new jewel toned shades to the colorsensational range called The Jewels. You can check the swatches of the entire range HERE. I picked up Berry Brilliant from the collection.

The Jewels collection has similar packaging to the actual colorsensational range except for the beautiful reflective rainbow pattern stripes across the pink rectangular cap. The range is completely dedicated to fall with shades ranging from berry’s, plums & red’s. The formula is very smooth, creamy & moisturizing with a nice shine to finish up the look without being heavy on lips. Even the layering of shades doesn’t affect the superlight texture of the lipstick & feels very easy on lips. I don’t need any lip balm beneath & are enough hydrating on lips till the wear time. These can bleed sometimes not extensively but slight displacement of the colour can be seen during meals or any liquid intake. The pigmentation is quiet rich because of the bold & intense shades & applies nearly opaque in a single swipe which can be further built up for deeper colour pay off. However the shades does not apply as intense as they look in the tubes & needs to be layered slightly but that doesn’t mean lack of pigmentation it’s just that they do not come out as bold they appear in the tube. The depth in the shades makes them wear for longer than the original colorsensational range which flares up to 3-4 hours on me but The Jewels stays beyond that leaving behind a strong tint before fading.

Berry Brilliant is a rich plum-berry shade which comes out as more plum on my NC42 skintone. My skintone doesn’t pull out the berryness of the shade enough but still the tint retains its identity under strong plum hue. It’s a deep fall shade & is highly pigmented. If you love deeper shades then highly recommended checking out this range.

• Rich deeper shades perfect for fall.
• Berry Brilliant with its intense colour tones will flatter across the skintones but may slightly vary in colour payoff, nevertheless will look fabulous on all tones.

There’s no negatives I can think of with this range!

Maybelline Colorsensational The Jewels has more or less similar formula like the original range, creamy, moisturizing & light textured. However they flare better in wear time because of the deep shades with strong tints. The range has shades very apt for fall, rich & deep ones like plums, reds, berry’s etc. The formula is very comfortable & gives a nice wet shine to lips making them look healthier & fuller. All shades are fabulous & will adorn any skintone. Highly Recommended!
