Defines like a pencil and glides like liquid eyeliner. This effortlessly easy to use I-Glide Eye Pencil with its smooth formulation, gives your eyes rich colour in a single stroke and blends in easily after application. Lasts longer than 8 hours; does not feather or bleed.
Colorbar I-Glide Eye Pencils are one of my favourite one’s when it comes to budget + performance. But Colorbar have increased the product prices & very soon it seems they are going to leave the budget brand territory! These comes in a plastic silver cased sharpen able pencil packaging with protective cap. The ends of the pencils have a small coloured strip representing the liner shade making the shade location quite convenient.
The texture is very smooth & creamy. The formula has got enough slip to glide smoothly on the lids without getting gooey or any breakage. Despite of the creamier texture these settle down as smudgeproof & almost water proof on my dry lids. Once dried, the shades don’t get displaced to any other part of the eye & stays intact in place without any fading or budging till removed with a good makeup remover. Though the range has got rich pigmentation but the colour payoff & wear time varies across the shades. The I Glide range contains matte as well as shimmery shades providing enough room for the shades variability & selection. I have tried three shades from the range & on average stays easily for around 10- 12 hours without any fading except for Coal Mine where shimmers travel a bit lowering the intensity of overall colour pay off. The only complaint is product wastage during sharpening because of the creamier texture of these pencils.
For the price & the excellent results pay off these eye pencils are a steal & I would highly recommend to store few basic shades like Cocobar & Prunella from the range which are great everyday wear shades without screaming attention on eyes.
Prunella is a beautiful earth toned purple with soft brown tones. It’s not a very vivid or eye catchy purple making the eyes pop up but is soft with enough colour depth to show up on lids having a nice pearly sheen. It looks fabulous with neutral eye makeup & also alone itself on the lid with slightly smudged along the lash line. The neutral tone makes it flexible enough to get incorporated in any kind of look. The shade stays intact on lids without any fading till removed.
A rich dark cocoa brown. I love to layer this shade for 2-3 swipes to get that intense darkened brown shade on lids which looks quite dark but retains those brown hues extremely well. Looks fabulous when weared along the lash line & smudged out a bit. My HG everyday go to eye liner & I am sure for many of you as well! Stays till eternity on my lids without any issues. Highly Recommended.
Shade: Coal Mine
This is a gorgeous charcoal grey with silver shimmer. Not a regular wear thing & adds a glamour to eyes. Love to wear this for night outs. The only complaint with this is after some 8-9 hours of wear time the shimmers gets displaced from lashline to lids & other areas, not drastically but are noticeable. While removing with cleanser the glitters get dispersed all around the eyes which is irritating especially after a hectic schedule. Also the shade needs a bit of layering to show the actual shade otherwise shimmers becomes more apparent than the shade if weared sheerly.
I am not comfortable with Prunella & Cocoa bar on my waterline & haven’t tried Coal Mine because of shimmers.
- Easy to use & hygienic pencil packaging
- Soft & creamy texture.
- Long wearing. Stays intact till removed with good oil based cleanser.
- Highly pigmented.
- Does not budge or fade post application & stays intact on place without any issues.
- Nice variations in the range to choose from pearl-matte-glittery finishes.
- There’s lots of product wastage during sharpening because of the creamier texture.
- Not safe for waterline.
- Some glittery shades like coal mine, there’s transfer of glitters after few hours of wear time which can be annoying.
Colorbar I Glide Eye Pencil range brings us some excellent quality wearable shades in a decent budget range. The shades varies from mattes to pearls to attention catching glittery ones. The formula is extremely soft & creamy (despite of shimmers) & applies well on lids without any issues. The pigmentation is also very impressive though it varies from shade to shade in terms of colour pay off. Some shades need layering to show up in full power on lids but are not subdued badly giving poor performance. They look well but layering makes them look much better. Overall for the price & performance these are a great deal.
