MNY Maybelline New York My Shadow comes in a simple and neat packaging. It comes in a small, square, white plastic container with a clear flip open lid which helps in easy identification of the shade if you own more than one. The lid has a rather weird design with a lizard (why on earth the company people chose lizard ) and an eye. The packaging is quite sturdy and can be easily carried around in a purse. I did find a little difficulty in opening the case as the opening notch is slightly narrow. It doesn’t include a sponge applicator or a mirror. There is also a small sticker stuck at the back of the compact which provides shade number.
The texture of the eye shadow is slightly hard and it is difficult to get enough eye shadow on the brush in a single swipe. I need to rub my brush several times to pick up the color. Due to its dry texture it is difficult to blend seamlessly and evenly and it needs a bit of work to blend. It doesn’t swatch well and I had to swipe it 2-3 times to get the actual color. It applies very sheer if you used them dry or without a primer but looks great and pigmented if used with a damp brush. As I am not in bold looks I prefer to use it dry. The pigmentation is just average but can be built upon. It contains shimmers which are slightly gritty but doesn’t tend to fall out. The eye shadow is not chalky at all. It started creasing after 3 hours on my slightly oily lids without primer. The eye shadow looks even better and intense over a base and stays for a long time without creasing or fading.
The shade ‘625’ is a dark black shade with grey undertones with flecks of silver that makes an excellent eye shadow for a soft smokey look and can be used as an all over lid color. The shade can be worn alone with kajal and mascara. It contains silver shimmers which are a bit gritty but doesn’t tend to fall out and looks great with the matte base. The shade would look good on most complexions. The formula of the shade is really disappointing but I have read good reviews about other shades. You can visit the company’s website here.

MNY My Shadow shade 625 is a dark black color with grey undertones. It contains shimmers which are not OTT and doesn’t tend to fall out. The texture is really disappointing. It is dry and hard and I need 3-4 swipes to get enough color. It is difficult to blend. The pigmentation is sheer when used dry but gives a bold color when used wet. The staying power is poor too. It starts creasing after 3 hours on my slightly oily lids. I won’t recommend it to anyone but you can try other shades as I have heard quite good reviews about them.
