I have waited almost a year to lay hands on this very famous fluidline from MAC. And thankfully some 3 months back the MUA at MAC replied with a smile “yes it’s in stock”! I had previously reviewed shades Blitz & Glitz and Microviolet from Mac’s Fluidline range.
Fluidlines are basically gel liners from MAC which are super creamy texture wise (the creaminess/ texture varies across shades) & are smudge proof & water proof post application. Once settled they don’t budge or fade come may whatever & one has to use a proper oil based cleanser to get them out of the lids. MAC fluidlines are one of the most promising gel liners available.
Dark Diversion is a LE edition shade (Stylish Yours collection to start with & repromoted with many new launches) & MAC keeps re launching these LE shades every now & then with their upcoming new collections. It’s a beautiful Burgundy-Plum-Brown shade (in artificial lights) & looks darkened eggplant in natural light. MAC Paint pot Hyperviolet comes pretty close to Dark Diversion. Not an exact dupe, Hyperviolet is less brown than the Dark Diversion. If you love plums this is a must have in your vanity. I find the shade very fresh & distinct from the regular wear plums/purples. At the same time a very wearable shade for any occasion or for regular wear. The texture is soft & creamy which applies smoothly. It comes out tad bit sheerer than how intense it looks in pot but nothing to complain about as the shade always look lovely in any way. Also this wears well on my waterline without any issues. I wear my Microviolet also on waterline but not Blitz & glitz because of the apparent shimmer. The packaging is same as MAC trademark Fluidline one, a thick bottomed pot with thick black lid.
- Easy to use sturdy pot packaging.
- Smooth & Creamy texture.
- Highly Pigmented.
- Smudge proof & Water proof.
- Long Wearing.
- Safe on waterline.
- The product doesn’t dry out in short term & has got good life span making the investment worth in every bit.
- Very fresh & unusual shade giving a good break from regular wear plums & purples.
- Though LE shade but can be seen in many recent & upcoming launches.
* In my eye swatches it’s looking more of a purple beacuse of the lightning otherwise it’s much deeper.
Dark Diversion is definitely a refreshing break from regular wear plums & purples. Its LE shade but you can lay your hands on it in if MAC re promote the shade with any of it upcoming launches. The texture is smooth & silky with rich pigmentation and long wearing (stays intact till removed). MAC fluidlines are the best performing gel liners I have used in every aspect. Highly Recommended!
