A flat-topped, full circular brush used for lightweight application and blending of any formula colour – fluid, cream, powder or pigment. Ideal for creating soft layers or adding textures. Made from a soft blend of goat and synthetic fibres.
The very famous MAC 188 is the smaller version of MAC 187 Duo Fibre brush the only difference being in size & of course price! MAC 188 is smaller & hence gives much better control in application especially for creamy products where one want to concentrate on a specific part. The bristles are made of goat hair & synthetic fibre making it easy to use for creamy as well as powder application. It’s an efficient complete makeup tool in itself & is function able for every possible technique of face makeup.
Foundation Application: A small dip into the product some stippling & buffing, there you are with most refined & polished look. It spreads & buffs in the product perfectly without any streaks or patches to give that impeccable air brushed skin. The smaller size helps to reach difficult corner parts of the face like under eyes, sides of the nose, mouth corners etc.. covering from every angle giving an even coverage on skin.
Blush Application: Again the smaller & flat head ensures the deposition & distribution of cheek product in the desired area. The brush picks up controlled amount of product & allows building up substantially. I love to use this with my powder blushes to get that seamless blend & most natural flawless finish. It works equally well with the cream blushes too.
Face Powder, Highlighting and Contouring & Concealer: It does everything for your face makeup. The soft & pliable bristles easily gets into the under eye area & blend in the concealer perfectly. Just sweep the brush above you cheek bones/nose to highlight or place it below them to contour the face. It does take more time than 187 for application of face powder being smaller but provides a nice flawless completed look.
However the bristles being very soft & flexible don’t work best with denser or viscous products. Other than that the brush does every possible thing you can do with your 187 & also which 187 can’t do. If you are looking to invest in a good makeup brush or still thinking about your first MAC brush, I would highly recommend this. I got my friend to get this from US where it costs less than India. I am using this since 8 months & have never shed a hair. Highly Recommended!
