Discover the beautiful sheer colour of a gloss, combined with the soft feel of a balm.
This luxurious formula is enriched with Mango-butter and Shea-butter. Keeps lips moisturised and contains SPF10 for added protection.
These sheer glosses from Maxfactor comes in a slim & sleek black twist up tubes. The top see through portion of the cap benefit for easy shades identification. I like the packaging of these sheer glosses , slim, sturdy & cap closes with a satisfactory click.
Texture wise these are like a denser version of lip balms. While the lip balms provide just a hint of tint these cover the lips with substantial colour & are very hydrating. They very well adapt the keynotes of a balm & sheer gloss coming out as a superior hybrid. They have this slight waxiness in the texture which doesn’t bother at all in any way. The formula doesn’t feel gooey or heavy on lips & also don’t highlight any flaws what so ever. Best part being the formula doesn’t melt easily or bleed /feather post application. Pigmentation is very average as can be seen by the name that these are sheer but buildable to certain extent. The shades in the range have enough density to provide an average medium coverage considering these won’t be a good option for heavily pigmented lips. Single swipe results in a slight hint of colour with nice lustrous looking lips which after few layers transforms into a highly moisturising non sticky formula with plentiful colour. They are highly moisturising with an added benefit of SPF 10 for the protection against sun. The wear time is pretty average with maximum of 2 hours on me or can be less if snacked sufficiently in between. The formula is not resistant to liquids & munches & gets wiped away easily.
Pink Oyster Shell is a Berry-Orange shade which comes out sheer orange in single swipe & berry tones gets visible upon layering. It contains minute red shimmers which hardly gets noticed but have clicked the lip swatch in macro mode to give you an idea. I haven’t layered the shade much in swatches. If done it looks prominently berry with luscious shine.
This is a product which females preferring soft yet noticeable colour with enough hydration will love. Looking at the very average wear time, working lot would love to reconsider before investing in these but if you suffer from extremely dry lips this is a product to go for overseeing the minor flaws.
And this is how it looks on me (sorry for no makeup pic, dead tired after complete day of fasting )
- Sleek & sturdy easy to locate packaging.
- A hybrid between lip balm & gloss which is highly moisturising with substantial colour coverage on lips.
- Comes with added benefit of SPF10.
- Pigmentation is buildable which densify the shade for enough coverage.
- The formula doesn’t highlight any flaws of the lips.
- Feels very light & non sticky on lips with ample hydration.
- Formula doesn’t melt in hot & humid conditions.
- Pricey! Most expensive tinted lip balm I ever own.
- Staying power could have been slightly better.
- Not suitable for heavily pigmented lips.
The product very well adapt the keynotes of a balm & sheer gloss coming out as a superior hybrid. These cover the lips with substantial colour with buildable pigmentation & are very hydrating. Comes with added advantage of SPF10 accompanied with a con of very average wear time. Highly recommended for extremely dry lips but if you are a long wearing lip product person can oversee these.
