I simply love the MAC’s everyday wear blushes range. Margin & Gingerly are my most used from MAC collection & Mocha joined them in the race very recently. It’s a matte gloomy plumy-pink in pan which gets transformed into a nice pinched cheeks flush on my NC42 skintone. Lighter skintones can enjoy a healthy earthy pink hue but going forward NC42 the shade becomes more & more difficult to show up. Though I get a bit of dusty pink if layered heavily nevertheless I like it a lot even if weared in a regular manner for a natural rosy flush! The shade does wears softly due to obvious sheerness but has enough depth to define your cheeks in a most accustomed way. Mocha wears for 6-6.5 hours on me which is good (but I do get lot better wear time with other matte blushes).
MAC Matte blushes generally feel chalky/dry *to look at* but actually are very smooth & blends effortlessly without being powdery. Having power packed pigmentation delivers exceptional colour pay off, however Mocha comes out way sheerer . For me it’s a no brainer & I find myself reaching for it when not know what to wear. If you are looking out for a soft, natural everyday wear blush then look no further than Mocha.
And this is how it looks on me:
- Easy to locate packaging.
- Smooth texture without being powdery.
- Easily blendable.
- Looks very natural with a pinch of colour, perfect for everyday wear.
- Complements wide range of skin tones.
- Might not show up on darker complexions.
- The texture feels a bit chalky to look at.
- Does not have that full throttle pigmentation seen in MAC matte blushes usually. (But that actually helps in a better way for the shade!)
If you are looking out for a soft, natural everyday wear blush then look no further than Mocha.
A beautiful soft plummy pink greeting you as some boring pale chalky shade in the pan but on cheeks it’s a different story. Gives a nice pinched cheeks/ natural rosy flush, yup the name is definitely misleading for this pretty everyday natural pink. Applies & blends well. Will flatter across skintones but above NC42’s might want to try it at store if it shows up. On NC42 it just borders up & manages to pull out well.
