Maybelline Color Tattoo eye shadows comes in a hefty bottomed glass tub with screw top lid. The packaging is easily prone to breakage (Mine Bad to the Bronze one has already chipped a bit from the bottom), so if you are butterfingers in handling things then these are not one of the best packaging around. The shade name is mentioned on the lid but not something that is standing out from rest of the details mentioned on the cap & one has to dig the eyes properly to read out the shade name. I wish Maybelline could have provided with coloured lids for more benefit. However the transparent glass tub is good enough for the shade location if you own few of these.
These are being compared to MAC paint pots in every aspect & surely do live up to the expectations! The texture is same as MAC paint pots allowing easy & smooth application and seamless blending. Is super light on lids. They don’t settle/dry down too fast & gives some time to play around, blend or smudge. Once settled they rest on the lids for exceptionally long duration without getting disturbed in/by anyway. They tune into a waterproof & smudge proof formula post drying & wears incredibly beyond 15 hours (is what the maximum hours I have tested these). The shade was fresh & intact at the end of 15 hours too with slight fading & I am sure it will flare till 24 hours as claimed. The pigmentation is also of high standards delivering a full intensity colour pay off. Though some shades (read bold gold) sounds sheerer than what we see in the pot but the shimmers covers the transparency well once on lids. These Maybelline Color Tattoos are an army of multi-tasking spectrum: cream shadows, eyeliners & eye shadow base. They perform well in any case. What else they come with a free eye shadow applicator brush per shade! Having said that these are not something that comes off so easily. I rub olive oil & leave it 5 mins letting the colour get dissolved before taking it off with a cotton pad. This won’t come out at all with any normal cleanser or makeup remover.
Bad to the Bronze is a nice everyday wear Bronzy Taupe shade giving a metallic finish. The shimmers are tiny & very well integrated into the texture that are barely felt. A perfect neutral! I love to pat this shade with my fingers & finishing off with coloured eyeliner. It spreads evenly & packs a solid dose of colour in a single swipe. This shade is completely a cakewalk when you just want to pack your lids with a neutral & move out. Highly Recommended.
