The Eye Shadow is a pigmented powder that gives the eyes a shine and pearl-like effect. Ultra-fine in texture, it is easy to blend while its moisturising agent keeps your eyelids soft and smooth. This product is long lasting and fade resistant.
Colorbar eye shadows comes housed in a silver cardboard box & the actual product in a silver dual compartmented compact case with a see through lid. The upper compartment has eye shadow while lower one holds an inbuilt mirror & dual sided sponge tip applicator which is basically of no use. The sponge is very hard/rubbery & does not pick up the shade properly but can be useful for on the go touch-ups. Overall it’s a convenient no fuss packaging.
Texture wise they feel soft (not buttery though) & satiny giving a pearly finish which I quiet like considering my very dry lids. Surprisingly the range does not have a single matte colour in the collection. All shades have tad amount of shimmers which are not overwhelming & gets blended for a pearlescent sheen, but if you dishearten shimmers completely in your eye makeup can skip them easily. There’s nil fall out with all the shades (some six) I have tried till now & provides a commendable colour pay off in single go. The pigmentation is buildable for intense version on lids. They can be used wet or dry & performs well in both cases. On average they flare easily for 5-6 hours on my lids without a primer & with a proper base long for the whole day without any creasing. Some intense shades (read Spicy Brown) stays considerably longer even without a base. They apply smoothly & blends seamlessly without any issues. Overall, I find them an excellent drugstore buy for the well budgeted price & superb quality & performance.
Her Majesty is a nice everyday wear neutral Deep Bronze with gold shimmer. Not a unique or versatile shade but if you love browns for casual easy going wear then a good one to have. Though shimmers are quite distinctive in swatches but they never overtake on lids in any way & just adds up for a nice golden sheen. Her Majesty stays good for 6 hours without a primer & longer with a base. It applied opaque & evenly giving a good coverage in one pass. A good one for work wear without going OTT. If you are looking for budget neutrals, then check the Colorbar range of eye shadows & you won’t be disappointed.
