Revlon Colorstay 12 Hour Eyeshadow Quads comes in a rectangular sleek black case with transparent see through lid & two tiny sponge tip applicators (I lost one of mine). The case has got a purity seal making sure that consumers don’t get tampered pieces. These quads come in wide array of shades with four coordinating colors in each palette.
Turquoise Shimmer contains beautiful medley of:
A Plummy Brown : Though it looks & comes out pretty good in terms of color payoff is extremely difficult to blend out. A slight stroke with brush washes out the shade completely! It works better when just patted on lid & left undisturbed. It fades away to nothing if tried to blend slightly!
A Coffee Brown: It works as a nice blending shade & looks very natural. This was the most easy one from the quad to work with.
A Pale Green: Average pigmentation & needs to be built up to show properly
Aqua Blue: Average pigmentation & needs to be built up to show properly
Though I liked the color collection in the quad, the overall quality is not impressive as per the tall claims from the range. The texture feels quiet dry & is powdery. A slight gentle sweep from my brush dislodges good amount of product. Also the brush gets loaded with more than required quantity causing a huge amount of product wastage. All the shades have shimmer in them which are apparent but not chunky as such. There’s considerable amount of fall out with all the shades because of the powdery texture. It’s better to finish off the eye makeup first & then go for face makeup while using this quad so that the excess fall out can be cleaned before applying your base. They give a nice satin finish on lids without being over shimmery.
The shades wears for 5 hours on me without a base and around 8-9 hours with base before starting to fade slightly ,of course Plummy brown shade as an exception. It never shows up if blended.Though the pigmentation is average but gets cakey if built up heavily. It takes effort to build up the shades properly & make them show after blending. With the regular usage the loose powder from the product gets accumulated in the rims & corners of the palette. Overall it’s a very average palette & I find the Lakme & Maybelline ones way better than this for the quality, performance & price. I am not sure of how other palettes from the range are but this one surely disappointing.
Swatches are layered to show up the shades
- Sleek, compact & easy to locate packaging.
- Nice assortment of complimenting shades.
- Smooth texture for easy application despite of the shimmers.
- Provides a nice satin finish.
- The powdery texture causes product wastage & settles down on rims & edges of the palette.
- The dark plummy brown is difficult to blend & hard to show up.
- Average pigmentation & wear time contrary to the claims.
- Considerable fall out.
- The finish look cakey if built up slightly heavier.
- Highly priced for the quality.
The palette performs very averagely without much impressive formula. The pigmentation is average& the blend ability is not consistent with all shades which makes it difficult to use them in coordination. Highly priced!
