Smashbox Halo Long Wear Blushes comes in a black round jar with an inbuilt mirror and an interesting mechanical twist & grind mechanism. You need to twist the inside pan & the blush is pushed out through small perforations at the surface. The grinder is sealed with a sticker in brand new product with small diagram indicating the usage mechanism. While the packaging looks quiet compelling, is not a very user-friendly one as far as I am concerned. The grinder pushes out more than required amount with a slight twist which creates heavy mess around. The powder settles all around the jar & in the grooves around. When you swirl the brush excess of product gets loaded causing the wastage. The best way to avoid this is to preserve the sticker that comes with the packaging covering the grinder to avoid every time messed up packaging. You can reseal the grinder after every use to avoid any loose stuff around afterwards. The packaging concept same as NYX HD Studio Grinding Blushes (which I will be reviewing soon!)
Peachy Dream is a gorgeous warm coral in pan and comes out slightly peachy on my NC42 skintone, a beautiful Peachy Coral to be precise. The blush is silky soft with finely milled powder which blends in seamlessly without any issues. There’s no hint of any shimmers in the formula yet retains slight luminosity on the skin without going intently matte giving a nice satin finish. The best part about the shade is that it goes with softer notes on the skin with medium to buildable pigmentation. However a single swipe does give a substantial wash of colour on cheeks which I find good for everyday wear. When I swatched all the other shades at the Sephora, they were considerably softer with first swipe but were buildable to a good intensity which makes them a safe & infallible formula to stick around. The formula is fool proof in longing power department & Peachy Dream gives a solid wear of 8-10 hours before showing the noticeable fading signs. The shade will be a beautiful breezy coral on paler tones which gets toned down a bit going towards the warmer side of the spectrum and might not show up well / wash out on deeper tones towards the end! This is a great shade for lighter-deep medium tones for nice flushed cheeks.
- The blush is finely milled for a smooth & silky soft texture.
- Blends in effortlessly.
- Gives a luminous satin finish.
- Fool proof medium to buildable pigmentation.
- Long wearing.
- A beautiful Coral singing across complexions.
- The packaging is slightly inconvenient to use where it tends to push out more than the required product causing wastage & creating lot of mess around.
I would highly recommend these blushes with some beautiful shades in the range and so fool proof formula! The packaging is certainly not the most user friendly here causing product wastage & mess around which is slightly disappointing. . But if you love intense pigment packed formula, can skip them easily.
