|It’s the End of Colour as you know it!
The intense rich colour of a lipstick, enhanced by a satin smooth shine. It’s neither a lipstick nor a gloss… It’s BIGGER than both!
Rimmel Apocalips comes in sturdy black tubes with colour coded bottoms for the easy identification of shades. The cap is also interesting here with an unsymmetrical diamond pattern design. The curvy sponge tip applicator picks enough colour for covering the entire lips & fits into the lips curve perfectly for a well contoured precise application. Overall I like the durable & user friendly packaging.
The texture is quiet puzzling here..it’s creamy & emollient yet superlight ,thin and non-sticky which is unusual for a creamy formula. They don’t have this denser feeling of a creamy potion. Applies smoothly & evenly and feel moisturizing enough. The finish is an even layer of shade with a healthy sheen which tones down to a satin matte finish after an hour or so. These are crazily pigmented & go opaque with a single pass. What I like the most is that the formula does not enhance any imperfections. It sits comfortably on the lips without sinking down into lines and does not accentuate dryness. Though it’s borderline moisturizing but keeps the lips in comfort zone and I need a touch up balm slightly after 2.5-3 hours of wear. I get a solid wear of 5 hours with them including light meals after which they tone down to healthy stain. These are one of the best long wearing lip formulas I have ever worn. The only thing I dislike is that they are highly transferable! So if you are much frequent with your teas or other beverages, these are bound to tone down sooner. I have three shades from the collection:
STELLAR –is a gorgeous bright neon Coral Pink in the tube but my skintone picks up more pink here. The shade bright Rosy Pink on me. Nevertheless it’s a beautiful shade & very wearable despite bordering neon. Goes opaque in a single pass & wears for 5-5.5 hours before descending down to a pretty pink stain. The shade screams spring with full potential!
AURORA is a beautiful Rosy Coral which instantly brightens up the face. It’s a very lively shade and I can see this to be favourite of many from the collection. Again highly pigmented with full coverage & wears for 5 hours with mild fading.
SOLSTICE is a great everyday wear Dusty Pink with iridescent shimmer. The shimmers are perceptible only upon close inspection or else adds up for nice sheen. Solstice wears slightly shorter than other two shades on me, somewhere 4.5 hours with mild fading without compromising on the pigmentation. Following that it descends down into a pretty neutral stain.
- Nice, sturdy & easy to locate packaging.
- The curvy applicator helps in precise contoured application.
- Smooth, creamy & emollient texture.
- Super light on lips & wears comfortably without drying out too much. (Though not supremely hydrating).
- Do not highlight flaws.
- Highly pigmented.
- Long wearing.
- Good shade range.
- Highly transferable.
One of the best long wearing formula I have tried on my extremely dry lips. Not supremely hydrating but then doesn’t make lips very uncomfortable too & a slight balm topping takes good care. They are creamy & emollient yet superlight, thin and non-sticky with a powdery touch which tones to a satin matte finish without highlighting flaws. Crazily pigmented & long wearing! Highly Recommended.
