This luxurious primer from Guerlain comes in an exquisite glass bottle with pump dispenser & golden cap. The whole product packaging is encased in a glossy black cardboard packaging. The brand itself defines luxury & the Meteorites range is no different.
The primer basically is made up of gold based pearls suspended in clear thick gel medium. It comes out as a sheer pale bronze gel liquid with ultra fine shimmers which is supposed to revive the dull complexion by providing it with with a healthy/dewy glow and erasing the sign of any tiredness. Overall transforming the dull looking into a fresh & glowy one. Sadly, it didn’t worked the same way on my super dry skin. The glow is quite subtle here which gets easily covered under my foundation, though it flare slightly better under lighter formulations like my regular wear bb creams. Because it’s a gel gets soaked up into my skin in no time & the finish I find is almost close to matte (the micro shimmers helps to revive that subtle glow here). I didn’t find it that amazing even when worn alone over a moisturized skin. There’s no issue with the formula workability- it spreads easily & evenly to get soaked up into skin nicely. To summarize, I didn’t see any noticeable transformation in my skin after applying this. I swear by my MAC Strobe Cream & Benefits Girls Meet Pearl for that instant lift in complexion which this primer failed to deliver. I guess this will flare better normal-oily skin.
On a brighter note, this does smoothens out the skin beautifully giving it a soft diffused look. It also helps to elevate the longevity of the makeup worn over. I noticed that my follow up makeup stayed for longer & intact with this. Not to forget the strong violet scent of the product which gets quite subtle post application. Still it leaves me half hearted here for it does not fulfill the major purpose for me. This I mostly use on low makeup days mixed with my bb creams when nothing much is going on eyes & rest of the face.
- Super classy packaging!
- It’s a fun to work with soft gel texture- pearls getting mixed with gel while squeezing out through pump.
- Spreads & blends easily.
- Gives a smoother & flawless appearance to skin.
- Keeps makeup intact for longer
- It didn’t give any noticeable transformation to my skin.
- I couldn’t see any noticeable glow or freshness in the skin.
- The subtle affect gets masked by the base products unless they are super light formulations.
- Very expensive.
This would work as a great base product for those looking for some solid hold base & skin smoothening. As for the reviving dull skin claims, didn’t worked noticeably on my extra dry skin.
