Clarins is known for their amazing skin care range. I was in desperate need of an *effective* under eye cream when due to all negligence it started to appear all dry & lifeless. The main thing I was looking for was intense hydration which could plump up my under eye area. I don’t have any dark circles or under eye bags and to for fine lines say barely one or two (very obvious when you hit your late 20’s).
Clarins Eye Contour Balm comes in a sturdy opaque squeezable white tube with a cap. The texture is quiet light & emollient which spreads in a jiffy & gets soaked up in under eye area with a delicate massage. Unfortunately there was no tester available for this when I visited the counter or else I wouldn’t have purchased this looking at the texture. I was wanting something heavy which would put up for whole night & nourish the delicate area immensely. The SA however convinced me that this variant is basically meant for hydration & for softening the fine lines (and not making them disappear, they never gave me any wrong claims which I am happy about!).
This cream works just fine for me. I won’t say I am completely smitten by the results but it did improved my undereye area considerably. It gave that life & bounce on the skin but still my skin feels lot more to get repaired. I was not aware that this comes in a dry skin variant too nor did SA informed me which is really sad. This worked fine for me in hot & humid summers but now when temperatures are dropping down doesn’t hold up on my extremely dry skin whole night & I do wake up with a feel of having nothing on my under eye area. Looking at the price I paid I did have some high expectations which were unfortunately not met . I have been using this since a month & just about to finish it in a day or two. For better results I started mixing 2-3 drops olive/almond oil with this for application & that ha helped alot to repair my skin. So I guess after this I will be sticking to olive/almond oil massage for my undereyes before paying such a huge price tag for a eye cream which I find as good as any regular drugstore/herbal version.
