NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils are not new in beauty blogging. I had a quiet a few of them in my wish list after trying out French fries from the collection and when NYX was having 40% off on entire site I did give away into temptation to grab few of them… They are definitely pricey in India which is why better to order from sites like cherry culture which do give free shipping offer every now & then. I have four shades to show you today: Rust, bronze, Yogurt & Sparkle Nude. You can check out my review of French Fries HERE.
These are multi-tasking ones: eyeliner, eye shadow base & Cream Eye shadow. However I don’t prefer them to use as eyeliner looking at the big blunt tip which doesn’t get sharpened into a pointed precise one enough for a thin line. But for thicker lines they work perfectly fine . The best way is to use them as a base for your eyeshadows / pigments or just play around for a nice smudged smoky look. Texture wise they are soft, creamy (not overly)& glides smoothly on lids with a slight slip. The pencil packaging makes the application job so very easy eliminating the requirement of any king of brush or finger. Gets smudged in a jiffy as they don’t shift gears to a smudgeproof or waterproof formula but are water resistant. They don’t crease on my super dry lids but starts fading after 6-7 hours of wear though not very evidently but noticeable upon close inspection. Wearing them over a good primer sort out the fading issue for me & they stick to my lids for good beyond those 7 – 8 hours or so which I get from most of the eye shadows. Overall these are a winner for me with multipurpose usage, nice creamy texture & good wear time without any creasing issues (though there might be creasing issues for oily lids). They come in wide range of finishes to choose from.
I am not a big fan of their packaging here! The flimsy cap cracks easily with slightest of the pressure which is why you need to be careful.
RUST is a rich shimmering Reddish Copper with fine pearls. It is described as rusted Red by the brand but do have those coppery tones which gets pronounced in artificial lightning. I just adore the color & how it looks on lids. Rust is richly pigmented giving true color pay off with a single swipe. It wears whole day on my lids without any noticeable fading.
SPARKLE NUDE is described as light gold with sparkles & quiet apt. On my skintone it almost borders a gorgeous Champagne which works fabulously as a brow , inner corner & cheek highlighter. It’s not overly shimmery & gives a nice diffused effect for highlights. The sparkles are very fine without any gritty feel.
YOGURT is a frosty Champagne which again makes up for a great highlighter. It is described as Pearly Light Brown but comes out way lighter on my NC42 skintone.
BRONZE is a nice metallic Bronze. I love such shades & wear them a lot. So this was on my list since long.
