“Born of expert craftsmanship, this cult constellation of multi-coloured powder pearls with an unforgettable violet fragrance created in 1987 is now available in an unprecedented harmony dedicated to Blanc de Perle. Today, the Météorites hold the secret to Stardust technology – a light-creating polymer, which transforms light invisible to the naked eye into a pure and endless glow on the skin. A subtle blend of matte, rosy and radiant blue-toned white pearls, combined with corrective coloured pearls – yellow to counter redness, pink for freshness and mauve to catch the light – they light up the face in an illuminating and corrective halo to give endless radiance.”
Guerlain Meteorites were relaunched (Blossom Collection) with a revamped packaging, formula & shades! I never got a chance to try the previous formula so can’t distinguish but nevertheless I am loving my first ever Meteorites from the brand to the core. There are 4 shades launched along with Meteorites Brush. I picked up the darkest shade 4 DORE (Warm Light) from the collection.
04 DORE: incorporates chocolate pearls with satin shimmers and vivifying fuchsia pearls that revive radiance and unifying beige pearls for deliciously beautiful skin. Dore is the deepest shade from the range however it doesn’t add any color on my NC42 skintone. Though I would clearly advice to go with a lighter hand to avoid going overboard. It acts as a perfect finishing touch with slight warmth. If you swirl on the pearls together can see a slight rosy toned natural color which will show up better on paler skintones. The most amazing thing about Meteorites is that perfect flawless diffused finish onto the skin with slight luminosity blurring out those tiny winy imperfections! They impart that soft radiance to the skin making it appear transparent in a subtle & sophisticated way. The pearls are very soft so make sure to use a lighter hand & a light puffy brush rather than a denser one or else you can see plenty of loose powder at the bottom. It’s the most delicate finishing touch I have ever come across! The colored pearls adds up for those subtle color corrects in the skin. Wears for whole day (I tested for about 7-8 hours).
It comes in a light weight aluminum tin with a press in lid & a powder puff for protection of the delicate pearls.Still I could find considerable loose powdery stuff at the tubs bottom when the product reached me. The texture is slightly powdery but nothing major & is super easy to work with. You can definitely use the loose powder but using the product by swirling gently on the pearls has its own charm. The powder puff is a great for protecting the delicate pearls but not so very apt from application point of view. The product has got signature heavy Guerlain scent which maybe overpowering for most.
The major drawback is the price against quantity. I have read in many blogs that the quantity has been chucked out by few grams with further price increase. While I don’t have any remote idea of the previous formulation & price , the product is certainly expensive..too expensive!
It’s quiet a heavy swatch on my NC42 skintone!
- Lovely tin packaging.
- Soft & delicate texture.
- Imparts a soft focused luminosity to skin in a subtle way.
- Give a nice warm glow to skin.
- Not shimmery or glittery.
- The colored pearls adds up for those subtle color corrects in the skin.
- Evens out skintone and slight imperfections.
- Heavily priced against the quantity.
- Heavy scent may not appeal to everyone.
It’s a magical tin which instantly transforms a dull skin into its most glorious form! Gives a natural looking transparent glow by blurring the imperfections in a more subtle way. Price & availability are definitely an issue but if you can splurge once in a while would highly recommend these. DORE is slightly on warmer side from the collection and my reason for picking up this particular one. It imparts a subtle warmth & glow while other shades might turn ashy on our skintones.
Not sure if available in India.
