La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL Comfort Cream 50+SPF is basically high protection face sunscreen with good hydrating properties and slight tint. It comes in a simple yet chic squeeze tube packaging with a flip up cap. Formulawise this has got a rich creamy texture without being heavy or greasy on skin. It applies easily but do take some time to sink into the skin completely. I wont recommend this to someone with oily skin as there’s considerable amount of shine/dewey-ness on skin post application till it settles down well. The cream is certainly hydrating which I absolutely love. However it does leave a whitish cast (for my skintone-NC42 in MAC) and I have to really blend it hard to make it work alone. I am not a everyday makeup person and skip even BB creams most of the times but this one gives heavy white cast in photographs, thanks to the tint! Once blended in really hard it somehow works fine but really puts me off from using this daily. I dont work around much with this if wearing under a foundation or else I try to skip this if wearing no makeup. The formula don’t have any distinct fragrance as it is specially created for sensitive skins.
I have not faced any tanning or sunburns after using this. The main purpose of buying this was the hydration factor as I have other sun protection options in my stash which are equally effective for me. But as it goes contrasting against my skintone & requires hell lot of effort is really a thumbs down for me. It surely does the job of a suncreen perfectly but is not much workable around little deeper complexions.
