Acid toning/Acid Exfoliation are the newly raved trends in skincare & they have proven their point quiet robustly. This new trend involves using skin friendly acids (lactic, glycolic, salicylic etc)in skin friendly proportions to exfoliate the dead skin cells to reveal fresh clearer complexion. Though it’s the same thing with physical exfoliators too but they most of the times are quiet harsh on skin & might be abrasive. Chemicals/Acids (skin friendly) on other hand are very gently with no rubbing or scrubbing involved & delicately removes the dead skin layer. Even they can be harsh on the skin & it’s more of a trial& error method for skincare which one suits you. But as you age use of these gentle chemical is preferred.
Alpha H Liquid Gold is perhaps the most raved out product which has miraculously transformed skins all over the world. No wonder I had to give it a go when I was in this really bad skin phase with all breakouts & didn’t want to use those scrubs. It is advised to start with one application per week & gradually progress to two to three applications building up the tolerance. My skin not very sensitive & I started off with using it twice a week. By the second week I could see those breakouts vanishing with considerable fading of the spots they were leaving behind. Impressed & hooked…. For a month I could see my skin improving drastically.. just to mention I was using deep cleansing masks also to go with this one. After a month I built it up for three times per week & my skin it quiet well without any hiccups! I basically wet a cotton pad with some of it & gently spread it on freshly cleansed face & leave it. I do not use any other serum or cream or toner with it as suggested by brand for an intensive treatment & it works well for me in that way. It does sting for a while & it depends on your skins tolerance how intense it will be for you. For me first two times was little uncomfortable & later adjusted quiet well to it. So you may want to go with very little product on cotton pad & later increase it a bit according to need per application. I don’t feel my skin dry or stretchy in the morning, infact it looks super fresh & glowing. I have been using this since 4 months & on the verge of finishing it up. Though I would say this did impress me but I also noticed that after a point it didn’t do anything more for my skin. At this time this a great gentle exfoliant for my skin which looks same since month and a half. It took care of my problematic skin well , got rid of the breakouts & congested pores, evened out my skin making it look fresh, clear & smoothed out without any texture. After that my skin remained same. I would highly recommend this for problematic skin which needs some special gentle care being effective as well. If you are someone with good healthy skin & looking for some gentle exfoliants there are other options too like the cult favourite PIXI one which quiet economical than this one. Alpha H I would say basically is amped up version of PIXI one. So if you have a healthy skin & needs that regular gentle exfoliator (read acid toning) you can look out for other options as well like nip+fab, First Aid Beauty. Though I have seen people raving on how this is way better than other options,I totally get that if you are trying to get over some skin issues.
Packaging wise, this is pretty simple & user friendly with a gold-brown coloured plastic bottle & a flip up cap to dispense out the product. I have no complains with this one whatsoever & clearly see why it’s cult favourite but wanting to try other options & see if am convinced to come back to this again. On that note… this new trend of chemical exfoliation is what I am in love with & highly recommend it for being so gentle yet so effective. You can also look out for exfolating creams, serums, essence etc in the skincare market & decide which works for you.
