Saslic Foaming Face Wash comes in an orange cardboard box packaging. The ingredient list and method of usage is written on the back of the box. The actual product comes in a transparent pump dispenser plastic bottle with a clear tight fitted lid. As the bottle is transparent, you can see clear liquid and it enables to determine when to repurchase it. As soon the product is dispensed from the pump mechanism, it transforms into foam. The smell of the face wash is a bit medicated but is quite mild and won’t bother sensitive noses.

The texture of the foaming face wash is light and soft. The pump mechanism is quite easy to use and dispenses the product easily and effortlessly. I just need two pumps for my entire face. The face wash produces enough foamy lather onto my palms. It feels soft and smooth whilst application and doesn’t cause burning or tingling sensation on my skin. I leave the face wash on my face for 20-30 seconds as per the instructions before rinsing it off. As it is a foaming face wash, it doesn’t lather. I then rinse it off and pat dry my face. My skin feels smooth, refreshed and thoroughly cleansed. It removes all dirt and grime off my face but fails in removing every speck of makeup. I need to use a makeup remover to remove all makeup before using this face wash. I feel it helps in reducing acne, pimples and blemishes with regular usage. I have been using it for 2 months and I could see it prevents occurrence of new pimples and acne. It doesn’t cause any side effects to my skin. It rinses away easily without leaving a sticky residue behind. It keeps oil at bay for a good 4-5 hours.   Although I have oily skin, my skin feels a bit dry (not tight!) after using this face wash and I feel the immediate need to moisturize my skin. My only grumble with the face wash is that it doesn’t last long and I need to buy it every month.

My skin feels clean, refreshed and smooth after using it. The liquid face wash transforms into foam as soon as it is dispensed. It does help in controlling oil and pimples to a great extent. If you have oily, acne prone skin then I shall highly recommend it to you.

Lotus Tea Tree Clarifying Face Pack comes in a sturdy, light yellow squeezable tube with the same colored flip open cap. The packaging is simple and understated. It can be easily carried around in a hand bag without any fear of leakage or spillage. It is a beige colored face pack with a prominent smell of tea tree. I find the smell mild and refreshing and it won’t bother sensitive noses.

The texture of the face pack is soft and smooth with a right consistency. It is neither very thick nor very thin. It doesn’t contain any granulated particles unlike other face packs. Due to its soft texture, it is easy to apply and doesn’t create any mess. Before applying any face pack, I make sure to clean my face with a face wash. You just need to take a pea sized amount of face pack and apply it across the face and neck. It spreads easily without tugging my skin. I have the habit of mixing a drop of water in my face pack for an easy application. I let it sit on my skin for about 15 minutes. The face pack dries quickly but doesn’t flake due to thin layer. It doesn’t make my skin tight or cause tingling, cooling or burning sensation. I then rinse it with water and pat dry. Removing the face pack is pretty easy and doesn’t need scrubbing the face. My skin feels soft, smooth and healthy. It doesn’t dry out my skin unlike other face packs meant for oily skin but I still follow it up with a moisturizer. It makes my oily skin squeaky clean and healthy by removing oil and dirt off the skin. It doesn’t have the skin brightening properties but provides a mattifying effect. Now coming to the acne and pimples part! It prevents occurrence of new pimples and reduces existing pimples with regular usage. It helps in reducing acne marks, blemishes and spots as well. I apply this face pack twice a week to achieve great results.

Maybelline Falsies Volum’Express Mascara comes in a pinkish purple colored tube with as mentioned spoon curved brush. The brush is very flexible with soft & bushy bristles.I prefer softer bristles for application flexibility along the lashes without any pokes & smooth wiggling action. The curve gives better hold to lash line for a uniform application from root to tip giving a nice lift, curl, decent volume & a bit of length; actually it’s supposed to give a dramatic false lash effect! But somehow fall short for the claim.

Formula is slightly diffused which gets thickened with regular use. Initially there might be slight ooopses as it tends to settle down fast with slight flaking but once it thickens gets more accommodative without any flaking issues. It’s very light weight and don’t droop down lashes. I have very sparse & barely existing lashes. It does add some volume  but not something which I would call dramatic or a false lash effect! Even the lengthening part is not impressive and just manages to provide a slight lash elongation not much noticeable. It takes 2-3 odd brushes to build up some volume with slight clumping. On the brighter side I really like the way it lifts up the lashes giving them natural curls & holding them till removed. There’s no smudging (being waterproof) & it stays rock solid without making the lashes stiff till removed. The pigmentation is jet black giving a luscious looking glossy lashes. The deeper pigmentation adds up the drama & fuller looking lashes, making them stand out easily. Removing is pretty easy with a good oil based makeup remover. So if you have very sparse barely existing lashes like mine this could be a good drugstore pick but I didn’t find anything extraordinary or any false lash effect as claimed. I would still give to Volume Colossal Mascara.

If looking for a change from your daily wear mascara for anything with decent volume & length formula in budget, this could be your pick. If picking up for the high claims it makes, will be a disappointment.

I got this amazing cleansing oil as a 15 ml sample with some of my Bobbi Brown’s purchase. The original packaging is a convenient to use 200ml transparent sturdy plastic pump bottle for $42. It’s surely expensive but worth to consider for a pampered skin. Oh! Did I mentioned the pump is lockable which will be really helpful during travels. The product is rephrased as Luxury meets simplicity- a simple cut short answer for a one step clean & pampered skin. The sample I got is a tiny plastic one without a pump.

It’s clear light textured oil with subtle soothing Jasmine-Lavender mix fragrance which slowly tones down to very mild Jasmine once I start massaging. I so love the fragrance which kinda relaxes the senses! I take a little amount of oil in my palms & start massaging , leave it for few seconds & then rinse with luke warm water (again with some massaging strokes). While rinsing it turns into a whitish liquid because of emulsification (which actually gets rid of the oil from the skin). I prefer removing my eye makeup last to avoid heavier residues of eye shadows spreading around. It’s very gentle on eyes and doesn’t sting at all but parallely removes the stubborn of the eyemakeup effortlessly. One just need some gentle strokes around/on the eye area to get rid of that long wearing waterproof mascara, kajal, eyeliner & eye shadows. Leave it for few seconds to dissolve the complete makeup before rinsing away & same routine goes for face makeup as well. It doesn’t take much of this oil to get the job done & one single pack should last really long,

Though being light in texture it doesn’t dry out my otherwise extremely dry skin. My skin does feels revived & clam with a squeaky clean radiant look. I love to use this even when not wearing any makeup just for the lovely scent & the soothing sensation it provides. This would make a good grab for oilies too, as being sourced from all skin soothing & pampering natural ingredients without a heavy or greasy texture.

Inglot Freedom System Eye Shadow comes in a small black cardboard box packaging. The actual product comes in a rectangular metal pan which in turn is protected in a see through plastic casing. The packaging is quite light and can be easily carried around in a bag. The shade number is mentioned at the bottom of the pan.

The texture of the eye shadow is soft and velvety smooth. You need to swirl the eye shadow brush once or twice to get an adequate amount of eye shadow onto the brush. It applies easily and glides effortlessly across my lids without getting patchy. It has such a smooth consistency that it feels creamy while application. It blends like a dream due to its silky texture without giving harsh edges. There is no fall out while applying this eye shadow. The pigmentation of the eye shadow is medium to build-able. It gives decent color payoff in a single swipe but you can always build up the color for the desired intensity. The longevity of the eye shadow is average. It stays put on my slightly oily lids for a good 5-6 hours after that it starts fading and creasing but it can be controlled using a primer underneath. The eye shadow is easy to remove using an olive oil or an eye makeup remover.

Shade ‘405’:

The shade 405 is an orange-ish gold shade with very fine gold shimmers. It provides soft and smooth pearly finish. It blends well with other darker shades and is thus great for creating soft smoky looks. It instant brightens up my eye area and looks flattering with Indian wear. It can be used for both day wear and night outs. It would look great on all skin tones.

Inglot eye shadow comes in a small rectangular metallic pan which is quite light and travel friendly. It has got soft and silky texture. It blends effortlessly without going patchy. It has medium to buildable pigmentation and gives decent color in a single swipe. It stays put on my slightly oily lids for a good 5-6 hours after that it starts creasing. With the usage of primer, the eye shadow lasts long and doesn’t crease. The shade 405 is an orange-ish gold color with golden shimmers. It looks pretty on all skin tones and is great to be worn with traditional Indian dresses. I shall definitely recommend it to everyone.

I got this primer as a part of Shiseido Runway Perfect Foundation Kit. It comes in a glossy squeezable black tube with twist up cap. The product is dispensed out through a tiny nozzle ensuring no wastage or taking out more than required quantity. Overall it’s a simple no fuss packaging. The sample packaging is same as the actual product one.

The primer has got a thinner consistency though feels creamy but it lacks that moisturizing feel once I start applying & blending it out. The texture feels a little bit drying out during blending. If you have extremely dry skin as mine, make sure to prep up the skin properly or else it’ll be difficult to blend it out seamlessly & may end up with a patchy finish. It is slightly tinted maybe because it’s also supposed to neutralize the skintone but post blending, gives a very natural finish without showing up the tint. I am not sure how much it is effective in neutralizing the skintone but surpass in rest of the departments. It provides a flawless canvas for makeup making skin all glowy & healthy. Though I find it more of a mattifying primer but it does preserve that glow & natural suppleness of skin without giving a bland finish. This makes it a good choice for oilies. It has a mild floral fragrance which can be sensed only if sniffed hard or else it doesn’t bother much.

It holds the makeup for good long hours without getting over shiny. I have got a flawless skin and wearing this alone over my moisturizer serves me the purpose of a base. t I apply my blush & other stuff directly over this which stays put for complete day without issues. Though it’s not one of the best primers I have used, but no ooopssses! also given that I like slightly more dewey & moisturizing formulas looking at my skin type.Also looking at the price, I would prefer something more moisturizing. As of now this makes a hands down my daily reach out thing in 40’s temperatures.

e.l.f Studio blush comes in a sleek black cardboard box packaging. The actual product comes in a matte black pan with a black flip open lid. It reminds me of the NARS packaging. There is small rectangular clear window on the top of lid which allows you to identify the shade in case you hoard many from this range. On opening the case, there is a small mirror which is quite handy while traveling but there is no applicator provided with blush. The packaging of the blush is sturdy, elegant and travel friendly. There is a clear plastic sheet with ‘elf’ written to protect the blush from being damaged. It really adds a nice touch to the blush. The shade name is written at the bottom of the pan.

The texture of the blush is soft, smooth and silky. It applies and gets spread easily without being patchy. It is finely milled and not chalky or powdery at all. I use a nice fluffy blush brush for application. It blends effortlessly and doesn’t look OTT. The pigmentation is pretty average. I need 3-4 swipes to get the color on arms for swatching but only 2 swipes to get a natural and beautiful color on cheeks. You can always layer it up to achieve a more dramatic look. The lasting power of the blush is superb. It stays put on my cheeks for a good 7-8 hours without fading (I have oily skin!). It feels very light and silky on my skin. It gives a soft glow to my face without looking OTT. The blush doesn’t cause any adverse effects to my sensitive, oily and acne prone skin. It can be easily removed using a good makeup remover.

Shade ‘Candid Coral’:

‘Candid Coral’ is a beautiful peach color with a hint of soft coral in it. It contains fine golden shimmers which are hardly noticeable on cheeks. It gives a warm and healthy finish to my cheeks and makes me look alive and awake. It is great for both day and night wear. It would look flattering on fair to medium skin tones.

The blush blends effortlessly and does not need a lot of effort to work with. The staying power is superb and stays put on my oily skin for a good 7-8 hours. Candid Coral is a beautiful peachy color with a hint of coral. It gives a warm and healthy finish to my cheeks. It would look flattering on fail to medium skin tones. Highly recommended specially considering the price!

As I had already mentioned in my previous posts that my skin type gets geared towards dry in winters so I try my best to get the products meant for dry skin. I got this cleansing milk for dry skin while strolling in Faces store.

The entire skin care range of Faces looks luxurious and soothing to the eyes. Faces Perfectly Gentle Cleansing milk comes in a sturdy, white plastic bottle with a transparent plastic pull off cap. On opening the lid, you can see a large pump dispenser. The pump dispenser needs to be twisted a bit to ooze out the cleansing milk. It is easy to control the amount of product to avoid any wastage. The cleansing milk is aimed at dry skin but now when my skin becomes an oil factory I feel it works well without making it all the more oily. The scent of the cleansing milk is mild and pleasant and won’t bother sensitive noses. It is pure opaque white in color.

The texture of the cleansing milk is soft and smooth with medium consistency. It contains granules particles which are kind of mineral salt though the company claims that they are milky beads. They are very fine and you can get the feel of the granules when you rub it with your fingers or apply it onto your skin. The cleansing milk works as both cleanser and scrub. I take two pea sized amount of cleansing milk on my hands, apply it onto my face and neck and then gently massage it using circular motions. The cleansing milk gives very cooling sensation to my skin. Although the scrub granules are not very harsh on the skin but I feel it is not meant for sensitive skin. The moment I massaged it towards the area around the nose, it gives some tingling and burning sensation. I totally disagree with the company’s claim of ‘Perfectly Gentle’.  I then use a damp cotton ball and sweep it across the skin. After rinsing it with water I could see redness on the area around the nose. Overall my skin feels soft, smooth and clean. It removes all my makeup (even waterproof!) effectively without leaving a greasy residue behind. It does a good job of removing all dirt and grime off my face. It cannot be used around the eye area as it contains beads.

Though it is aimed at dry skin but it suits my oily skin as well without breaking it out. If you don’t have sensitive skin then you may give it a try.
